Things I Hate (Today)
- Fuzzi Bunz Cloth Diapers Don't get me wrong I LOVE cloth diapering, I just hate the Fuzzi Bunz brand. I have 2 Fuzzi Bunz, 3 Happy Heinies, and 14 Bum Genius which I cannot say enough good things about. The Bum Genius are amazing! They never leak, are super wicking/ keep her really dry, fit trim and slim, and come in cute colors. The stupid FB on the other hand leak everytime, today's afternoon nap being no exception.
Tearing up a magazine in her pretty blue Bum Genius diaper - The Mailman Our mailman always comes between 4:50 and 5:15. Always. Everyday. Except today. I went out at 11:30 to put some outgoing mail in the box and he had already come today. What the Hell?
- Missing Pilates Jake's working late so no pilates class for me.
- Having a Sick Baby Poor little Lucy has had fever and cough for 3 days. She's super fussy and clingy and you can just tell by looking at her that she doesn't feel good. She's cutting teeth on the bottom so maybe that's the problem? My doctor said (over and over again) that babies don't get fever when they cut teeth and that something else must be wrong but all my girlfriends swear their kids ran temperatures when they got their teeth. All I know is, she feels terrible.

Feel better Lucy. Thank goodness you have books to get you through it all.
You too Momma...Breathe deep.
@Jaynebug - Thank you! This too shall pass
She already is a little bookworm! She'll dig through her book basket, find a particular one then look at me like "OK, let's read!"
I did the same thing with my three and they love books, have a wonderful vocabulary, and a fabulous imagination.
I liked my Fuzzi Bunz (lol, ew!), but did have an issue with wicking when the baby would wear a onesie type garment. My husband hated the cloth diapering in general, but the cloth seems so much nicer to me.
My kids got fevers, rashes and ear infections when teething. I know the doctors say it's not related.....but most moms disagree!! Hope Lucy is feeling better soon!
Awwwww...poor sweetie. My kids got fevers too. I don't know if they just coincidentally had viruses every time they got new teeth, but whatever. Tylenol was the only thing that made any of them feel better.
@subarcticsuburbia - I had heard good things about the Fuzzi Buns but they just haven't worked for us
Luckily, my hubby loves the cloth diapers (he doesn't wash them though). The Bum Genius have velcro tabs so they work more like disposables so I think that's a big selling point for him. What's not to love about soft, chemical free, diapers on your baby's little tush lol
@turningreen - @ordinarybutloud - Thanks for the info/tips. Maybe the teething lowers the immune system so they're more prone to infections? IDK, we're big fans of the Tylenol around here
This might seem like a really silly question, but, are Pilates difficult?
@musicalsoulmel - That's not a stupid question at all! The answer is yes and no. I think it's difficult to mater but easy to start. A lot of it is about strengthing your core through (fairly) simple moves. It's usually a slow-paced exercise, alot like physical therapy, and there are multiple ways to do each move that make it more or less difficult so you can start on the easist way and work up to the hardest. There's also a lot of stretching and things to improve balance and flexibility. I tried doing videos and could never the hang of it or motivate myself to do it, then a friend introduced me to a class offered through our city's rec department and I fell in love with it. I take what's called a mat class (as oppossed to a reformer class which uses a machine that looks like a medieval torture device) I've been doing it for almost 3 years now. A lot of instructor even have degrees or certifications in rehab therapy so they really know how to adjust to individual needs.
Sorry to go on and on...I just really like pilates
Hope you're doing well! Any more thunderstorms?
@thisistam - Thank you for going into depth! Pilates really sounds like something that might be helpful for me, to become more flexible, and maybe work through some of my muscle tension and balance issues that my CP causes. And, since you said that many instructors have degrees in rehab therapy, they might know how to help me modify a routine to make it easier for me, I'm really glad you mentioned that!
No more thunderstorms, unfortunately. It was just a one time thing, but I did find my camera cord today, and I was just going to upload the video when I saw your comments, so it should be there by the time you read this. :)
